            Charles H Wright Museum

On Wednesday February 21, 2024 members of the Clubhouse got a chance to beam in during Black History month with a visit to the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. Crystal, Ken, Sharon , Dorothy and Linda all participated in this trip. We were all amazed at how beautiful and inspiring it was; so very insightful. One of the exhibits was created by Ruth E. Carter.  Carter’s costumes were based on real and imaginative characters provide an arc to the narratives of African Americans stemming from the movies

Do the Right Thing, Malcolm X, What’s Love Got to Do with It, Amistad, The Butler, Marshall, Selma, Dolomite Is My Name, Coming 2 America, Black Panther; Wakanda Forever, along with these exhibits were other exhibits displaying the focus, culture and living hood of Black History. We got an idea of what African Americans went through to get where they are today. It really enriched our minds on the historic demonstrations of Black History.
