The Cares Campaign is your chance to help thousands of people in Metro Detroit by supporting the Gesher Annual Fund and the Jewish Federation of Detroit, one of Gesher's largest supporters.

About The Competition

Artists from The Milton Y. Zussman Center's Clubhouse for The Common Good and Creative Expressions Programs were invited to submit designs for the Gesher Human Services' Cares Campaign competition. After the Cares Campaign Committee reviewed all submitted designs, Kenneth Rosenthal's drawing of three trees and a house was chosen.

A Word From The Artist

This year's theme was "Home is where the heart is". I drew the design for myself and after learning about the Cares Campaign, I thought it fit the theme well.

I first drew the trees, and I felt like the trees needed a house to make them a home, so I drew a house next to them. I wrote "Cheer Up, We Care" over the trees because I wanted to put a smile on someone's face, and I thought that anyone seeing those words for the first time would appreciate them, especially if they were having a bad day.
