Gregory Kiewiet

Gregory Kiewiet's writing is influenced by Cubism, Jazz, and vanguard movements and approaches. His writing has opened doors for him about cultural consciousness: i.e. art as exploration; and risk of discovering the Self. 

Gregory Kiewiet earned his MA in English (Creative Writing) (2001) from Wayne State University. Gun for Hire, Kiewiet’s MA thesis at Wayne State, was a finalist in the Lois Heck-Rabi Dramatic Writing Competition in 2001. In 2007 Past Tents Press published the book of poetry In the Company of Words. Work has appeared in The Columbia Poetry Review, Marks: An Online Journal of the Arts, Dispatch Detroit, Box, Woodward Magazine, Graffiti Rag, and others. Translations from the Dutch poet Coert Poort appeared in 2004 in volume four of Dispatch Detroit. His writing has also been used by Matrix Theatre in a three-act staged reading, entitled The Open Door.

60% of all sales go to the author while 40% goes back into the Creative Expressions Program to continue developing opportunities for Gregory and others.
